Chapter 5

Eternal Verity for Chapter 5

I am love made manifest!

A Prayer of Love

Brought to the brink of my own knowingness, I learn a new language of love as images of my Beloved flow through me everywhere, touching the very center of my existence.

I taste and smell the delicious Divine as never before. Locks of my defenses become thinner and thinner as I gently ache to know my beloved even more deeply.

Touched, time fades, as I swell with passion from the heavenly electrical currents beckoning me to surrender to the rapture of love.

Intensity of contact beyond understanding stirs the inner pools, my body shudders to the familiar miracle working within, the desire of which, for Spirit to pull me in.

My heart seeks no other direction but to enter into love stroking no other idea, Divine warmth ripens my being, satisfying my anxious longing in this blissful blaze.

Rapidly moving beyond my frequency of comfort, I know I'm safe as I abandon myself to the familiar hearth of love.

My muscles tighten as I open to the boundless bliss, the sweetness and the intensity of ecstasy itself.

My being in rhythm moves faster and faster yet unhurried, trembles in tandem with this seductive swirl.

Engaging, fusing, merging, weaving, melting, joining, blending, mingling, and sated in the Divine, beyond body, I am invited into that place beyond all other places.

Surrendering myself to the Divine surge, floating untethered in the waves of love, smiles of joy, convulsions of delight, pleasures spreading in ever widening spheres.

Volcanic pressure rising, sensing the promise, sounds uttered without meaning, yet not meaningless, I move beyond the encumbering ego where all my nerve endings signal bliss.

Exposed in the soft light of love, I experience Eternity in this moment.

With every molecule satisfied, I face the imminent separation slipping back into this world as the spent waves leave the shore, yet the lingering fragrance of love and its miraculous ways forever whisper in my ear: Look at me, look at me.

Laughing tears of Joy, I glisten in silent awe and appreciation for God’s glorious love in my life, I am so grateful.

And so it is.

The heart chakra - the wellspring of love, warmth, compassion, and joy is located in the center of the chest at the heart level.

Anahata moves love through your life.

It is the center of your deep bonds with other beings, your sense of caring and compassion, your feelings of self-love, altruism, generosity, kindness, and respect.

Anahata is an integrating and unifying chakra - bringing to wholeness - as such, it is your healing center. Indeed, most spiritual traditions recognize love as the ultimate healing force.

The energy of anahata allows us to recognize that we are part of something larger, that we are interconnected within an intricate web of relationships extending through life and the universe.

Anahata allows us to recognize and get in touch with the sacred and fundamental truth that runs through all of life and connects everything together.

The "way of the heart" or the "path of the heart" is living your life from this energy center of love.

It means living your life with loving kindness and compassion towards others. It means that your heart is open to others and you inspire kindness and compassion in others. You create safe and supportive environment.

Others can feel your love and warmth. They feel loved and accepted unconditionally. People feel at peace around you, as there is no judgment coming from you.

When anahata is open and energy is flowing freely, you are not only loving to others, you are also loving to your self. You know when you need to say no and when you need care and self-nurturing.

All of the seven chakras are important and while I cannot say that the heart chakra is the most important, I do want to say that it is very important.

Most of the world's spiritual traditions recognize love as the unifying force, the energy that is the most fundamental part of the universe, and of ourselves.

To open to love is to reach to the deepest places and connect with our true essence, our spirit, and our soul.

Zen Story

The Nature of Things

Two monks were washing their bowls in the river when they noticed a scorpion that was drowning. One monk immediately scooped it up and set it upon the bank. In the process he was stung. He went back to washing his bowl and again the scorpion fell in. The monk saved the scorpion and was again stung. The other monk asked him, "Friend, why do you continue to save the scorpion when you know it's nature is to sting?"

"Because," the monk replied, "to save it is my nature."

Is That So?

A beautiful girl in the village was pregnant. Her angry parents demanded to know who was the father. At first resistant to confess, the anxious and embarrassed girl finally pointed to Hakuin, the Zen master whom everyone previously revered for living such a pure life. When the outraged parents confronted Hakuin with their daughter's accusation, he simply replied "Is that so?"

When the child was born, the parents brought it to the Hakuin, who now was viewed as a pariah by the whole village. They demanded that he take care of the child since it was his responsibility. "Is that so?" Hakuin said calmly as he accepted the child.

For many months he took very good care of the child until the daughter could no longer withstand the lie she had told. She confessed that the real father was a young man in the village whom she had tried to protect. The parents immediately went to Hakuin to see if he would return the baby. With profuse apologies they explained what had happened. "Is that so?" Hakuin said as he handed them the child.
